Changing the World Begins with Changing Ourselves

Listen to “Changing the World Begins with Changing Ourselves”.

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves.”Leo Tolstoy

Change has to begin within yourself—the world changes when we change. There is no other way. Without taking action, nothing will get done.

Taking action can be challenging, and you may have to fight a lot of inner resistance. However, if you can change how you think, then you will gradually change how you feel and what actions you take. Eventually, the world around you will also change.

Here are some suggestions to help you start changing the world you inhabit:

1.Negative beliefs

Negative beliefs include the self-limiting and self-critical ideas that you have about yourself. These not only weaken your sense of self-worth, but also hold you back from taking advantage of positive experiences, opportunities, and relationships.

The first step towards harnessing the power of your subconscious mind is to eliminate the thoughts that are loaded with negative emotions. You need to stop the negative self-talk or at least make sure that it’s not loaded with emotions.

Your relationship with yourself is the most defining factor in shaping the kind of life you live. The less you love yourself, listen to yourself, and understand yourself, the more confused, angry, and frustrating your reality will be.

2. Lifestyle

Establishing a healthy lifestyle that isn’t reliant on willpower and brute force is possible, and it starts with learning to love yourself.

The first step to loving yourself is valuing yourself enough that you want to do whatever it takes to be healthy. Instead of pumping your body with processed carbs, additives, and sugars, you should be nourishing your body with foods that complement your health intentions. This will promote longevity and is a decisive step in the wonderful direction towards a healthier and happier life.

Self Worth – Why You Need To Value Yourself More

Spend your money and time on clean eating, exercising, and taking care of your mental health. This will allow you to be in a position to take full responsibility for your life. It’s the best investment you can make toward living a long, healthy, and productive life. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones.

3. Awareness

The more upsetting we find a feeling, the greater the impulse to project it onto someone else. For example, when we feel insecure about an aspect of ourselves, we look for ways to identify insecurities in other people. This is often the case with bullying behaviour, whereby a bully will target the insecurities of others to avoid dealing with his/her own problems.

Another example is, in an attempt to mask anger, some people project it onto those they are angry with.

Stress is Contagious. So is Inner Peace.

The first step to dealing with negative thoughts and feelings is to recognise them. When you are capable of facing unwelcome feelings and thoughts head-on, you’ll find they are far less draining or damaging in the long term.

Once you start to become more aware of your thoughts, you’ll also begin to change how you behave as well. This can create a Domino effect, and begin to affect changes to how you view the world and how others perceive you.

Changing the world begins with you and your relationship with yourself. Only you can define the life you live, and the life you live ultimately shapes the lives of those around you.
