Food Industry: How to Make Healthy Choices?

Listen to “Food Industry: How to Make Healthy Choices?”.

Food manufacturers put a lot of time, money and research into creating beautiful packaging and extending shelf-life. However, they pay far less attention to ensuring that the foods we eat are beneficial to our health.

Massive marketing campaigns promote processed foods that are high in sodium, sugar, and fat. However, there are relatively few government policies in place to educate and advocate for more nutritious options.

Almost half of the food we eat has been significantly changed from its original state. With every addition of salt, sugar, fat, additives, preservatives or artificial colours, we get further away from the natural organic nutrients we need. Processed foods are designed to extend the shelf-life, not human life!

Every item of food you put into your body will either add value to your health or take away from it. If you are concerned about looking good and feeling young into your 50s and beyond, you should be opting for foods that do not harm you unnecessarily.

Is Your Diet Making You Depressed?

“Dead food” is the newest title given to food that has had the life packaged, preserved, or cooked out of it, to the point where it has become void of virtually all nutritional value.

“Dead food” refers to processed food or food without nutrients. It is called dead because it has been refined to the point that it is bereft of minerals, vitamins, and fibres.

These types of foods are not foods in any real sense! They are a series of synthetically derived ingredients mixed together into something that tastes okay and has a long shelf life but actually does more harm than good to our health.

Recently, these health depriving “foods” have become quite popular and often a staple in the Standard Western Diet. As a result, we have seen an incredible rise in modern diseases like diabetes, obesity, autoimmune diseases, infertility, cancer and more.

Poor diets, which include those that are too high in sugar, trans fats and processed meats, and too low in whole grains, organic produce and nuts, are associated with death and disease worldwide.

Dead Food VS Alive Food

If we eat dead food, we will not get the energy we need to fill our life-force and make us vibrant. However, all is not lost, and a small change can make a big difference.

Switch to food which is “alive”.

To stay healthy and live longer, we need to eat live food that is full of energy. Alive foods will provide your body with the nutrients it needs to function optimally.

The healthiest eating plan is mind-blowingly simple. It involves consuming more vegetables, fruits, and protein, and fewer processed carbohydrates.

Here are some realistic steps to get started:

  1. Avoid eating packaged and processed foods whenever possible.
  2. Choose real foods
  3. Eat more fruits and vegetables
  4. Cut back on added sugars
  5. Reduce your red meat intake to 1-2 times per week
  6. Limit saturated fats and avoid trans fats
  7. Cook and eat at home

Your food choices each day affect your health. How you feel today, tomorrow, and in the future, will depend on the choices you make today.
