New Year – New Beginning

PLANET

Listen to “New Year – New Beginning”.

The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to set new goals by resolving to do more. Many of us want to eat less, quit smoking, start exercising and meditating, and a long list of other dos and don’ts we hope will improve our lives in the coming year. However, one thing we all truly yearn for is to feel happier and healthier in our day-to-day lives.

Life is precious, and we need to make the best of it. No matter what happens, there’s always a time and a reason to make a new beginning. Developing new habits requires determination, lots of patience and constant effort. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to even a few years, but it doesn’t matter as long as you don’t give up.

The most important part of building a new habit is staying consistent.

It doesn’t matter how well you perform on any particular day; sustained effort is what makes the real difference. Consistency is the key to building a new habit, and it’s important to stick to it, regardless of any distractions that come your way.

It’s often tempting to procrastinate. After all, it’s much easier to stay at home and say you’ll go tomorrow. The trouble is, tomorrow never comes!

How to Stop Unhealthy Food Cravings

Looking after physical and mental wellbeing has never been more critical than it is now. Long periods of loneliness and social isolation is harming physical, psychological and social health worldwide.

Here are a few tips and more steps that will help you prepare yourself for a new hopingly less stressful year.

  • Love the idea that you can improve your wellbeing Believing in yourself will give you the motivation you need to be consistent with a new routine.
  • Specify your goal – Your resolution should be crystal clear, as having a clear goal is vital if you want to succeed. If you only have a vague idea such as ‘I want to lose weight’, then you won’t have a clear goal in sight. To help you visualise your aim, you need to be more specific. How much weight do you want to lose, and by when?
  • Accept discomfort – The most significant challenge you’ll face in creating a new routine is accepting the discomfort that comes with it. It can take up to 60 days to turn a new action into a well-formed habit, but it’s well worth it.
The Art of Body and Mind Discipline
  • Be realistic – You’re not trying to do something big once; you’re trying to form habits that you can introduce into your life permanently.
  • Check into your emotions – Are you attempting self-discipline from a place of shame and anger, or a place of focus and determination? From weakness or strength?
  • Discover the power of meditation – Meditation helps with relaxation and focus and generally makes you feel good about yourself. The positive effect of this is that you no longer want to do things which harm your body.
