How To Detox Your Body Naturally

We are living in a world filled with harmful toxins, dangerous chemicals, and serious stress. Some of us are more heavily impacted than others, but nevertheless, we are all surrounded by these dangers.

People are constantly trying to figure out new ways to stay as healthy as possible. Below are 10 ways you can help your body detoxify naturally so it can flush out some of the everyday toxins to which it’s exposed:

  1. Water and lemon

Start the day with a glass of spring water and the juice of 1/4 freshly squeezed lemon.

  1. Minimise or eliminate white sugar intake

Refined sugar is the biggest culprit, but you should also avoid substitutes that contain toxic artificial sweeteners. Instead, opt for natural alternatives such as stevia, honey, coconut sugar, date sugar, molasses, or maple syrup.

  1. Eat more raw fruits, herbs and vegetables

Fruit, vegetables and herbs contain enzymes that aid digestion and improve nutrient absorption.

  1. Eliminate toxic oils from your diet

Toxic oils can include vegetable, peanut, sunflower, cottonseed and canola oils. Substitute these with good oils, such as extra-virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, hemp oil and flaxseed oil. Hemp oil, for example, is a great source of omega-3s, -6s, and -9s.

  1. Drink plenty of clean water

Hydration keeps your cellular machinery at peak performance and detoxing optimally along with its numerous other functions. Always aim for properly filtered water to avoid added toxins.

  1. Sweat out your toxins

Among its many benefits, exercise can help your body better excrete toxins and burn fat more effectively. Whether your activity involves hot yoga or high-intensity interval training, try to find a consistent workout plan that fits your preference and schedule.

  1. Support your gut

Did you know that the foods you eat can actually act in a similar way to fertiliser for your gut microbiota? Some types of food are considered to be “prebiotics,” meaning that they contain components that encourage the growth of gut bacteria.

Try getting a little more asparagus, apple, jicama, pumpkin seed, or honey in your daily diet; they’re all potent prebiotics and easy to sneak into lots of meals that you’re already making. If you want to make things really simple, you also have the option of taking prebiotics in powder or tabs.

  1. Minimise your exposure to toxins

Prevention is always your first line of defence. Avoid household cleaners, building materials, plastics, processed foods, and other places where toxins linger.

  1. Consider gentle detoxifying teas

Add some dandelion, chamomile or turmeric tea to your evening routine or try lemon tea for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Chia, milk thistle, garlic, and spirulina are also great natural detoxifiers and heavy metal chelators as well.

  1. Take a deep breath

Pay attention to your breathing. Does it become shallow when you are stressed or upset? Try taking deep breaths instead. Deep breathing can help cleanse the respiratory system and oxygenate the blood.

Hey, i love your article, thanks for sharing. I noticed you mention “detoxifying teas” but what about Rooibos (red) tea? Do you think that red tea is also a detox tea? I’ve read an article about Rooibos tea and its benefits. What do you think about this article? https://www.detoxificationtips.com/red-tea-benefits/
